This centre has a rare distinction of contributing many innovative & cost effective surgical procedures to the fast expanding international field of Minimal Access Surgery.

As a matter of fact, the unique achievements in the field of laparoscopic surgery by Prof.C.Palanivelu, has been the corner stone of GEM’s success story.

GEM is now recognized as a training centre for Laparoscopic Surgery by the National Board of Examination (NBE), Medical council of India (MCI) & Society of the American Gastroenterology Surgeons (SAGES). GEM offers Basic & Advanced skill Courses in Laparoscopic Surgery and the faculty constitute some of the finest brains in this field, equipped with adequate skill to motivate and impart training.

GEM Hospital has excellent infrastructure to provide quality medical service, finest health care. The Hospital spread over five floors, is strategically situated & can be easily accessible from the Coimbatore Airport, Railway Station & Bus Terminus & from any part of Coimbatore City & Suburbs.

The ground & first floors have Library, a Pharmacy, a Conference Hall, Diagnostic Lab, X-ray & Scan Unit & three Ultra Modern State of the art operation theatres. The other three floors are occupied by Patient Wards including deluxe rooms catering to the specific requirements of the patients from abroad. In addition the Hospital has a spacious lounge for patients waiting for / attending the OP, a canteen besides ample open space for vehicles parking.

It has a competent team comprising of qualified, experienced Doctors, Para Medical Staff, and technicians. While the Hospital is taking every effort in improving the existing infrastructure & services, The Hospital is now embarking upon expanding new infrastructure & other facilities in the 15,000 sq.ft. land adjoining the present Hospital building.
